Event Overview.

My Possibilities (MP) is a 501(c) that serves as a lifelong learning program for adults with special needs. Disability funding in the state of Texas is minimal, so fundraising is imperative for the organization to exist. This gala gathers MP’s clients - lovingly referred to as HIPsters, Hugely Important People - corporate sponsors, and the North Texas community for their most lucrative event of the year.

At the center of MP is one thing - the HIPsters. That is their brand, and that’s what the Community Ball is all about, so everything planned for the event is to highlight them and help attendees identify with the mission. The 2017 Community Ball marked the launch of a $50 million capital campaign that would expand their facilities by almost four times its current capacity at the time. There was an ask planned that aimed to garner financial support for the campaign, and the event had to show you why you should contribute with clear and concise messaging. We produced content that would compel the audience to give by showing them the mission of MP. The video on the right side of the page is an example of content we used to compel donors to give.

The event included a plated dinner at rounds of ten, a silent auction with almost 200 items, and live entertainment. The night centered around the stage - people would look at it during the program and then people would dance around it for the rest of the night. With a minimal budget we maximized the use of the space with the stage, a massive dance floor, and multiple photo opportunities to be shared across digital platforms.

The positive response to this event was overwhelming. MP had over a dozen corporate and individual sponsors at various levels secured before the event began. By the end of it the fundraising goal was exceeded by double. My Possibilities and its mission gained local publicity after the event and word spread about the capital campaign like wildfire. Because of this event My Possibilities had write ups in the Dallas Morning News and Dallas Business Journal, along with local publications such as Plano Profile and Plano Magazine.
